Tramin Stoan

Stoan Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

The name of this crisp, refreshing white refers to the stony soil in which the grapes are grown, which in local dialect, is referred to as "stoan." This is a unique blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer, fermented in large oak barrels and refined seven months before bottling.

Acclaim
The wine reveals terrific balance in an elegant, mid-weight style where all of the elements meld together with notable purity. [T]he wine possesses plenty of harmony, not to mention tons of personality.
— Wine Advocate, Oct 2009
Very aromatic, suggesting the Gewurztraminer is coming through. Full-bodied, with dried apple and pear flavors and a lively, minerally acidity. A racy and stylish white. Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Gewurztraminer, and Sauvignon.
