Tramin Stoan

Stoan Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

The name of this exotic Alto Adige blend refers to the stony soil in which the grapes are grown, which in local German dialect is referred to as "stoan." This aromatic white wine is made from Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer grapes which are blended together and fermented in large oak barrels before being refined an additional seven months before bottling.

Acclaim
“Golden-tinged pale yellow. Clean, bright, fresh aromas and flavors of ripe apple, grapefruit and sweet spices. Closes long and mellow with repeating nuances of sweet spices. A blend of more than 60% Chardonnay, plus Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon and Gewürztraminer.”
— Ian D’Agata, Feb 2020
“Accents of chive blossom and ground white pepper wind through flavors of yellow melon and kiwifruit, stone and candied pink grapefruit zest in this creamy white, which is medium-bodied, enlivened by lip-smacking acidity that drives the lingering finish.”
— Wine Spectator, Oct 2020
