Giuseppe Cortese Rabajà Barbaresco

Barbaresco Rabajà DOCG bottle image

Wine Description

This wine is made entirely from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the prestigious Rabajà vineyard, located in the Langhe hills just to the south of Cortese’s winery. To achieve the perfect structural balance, the wine is aged for twenty months in a combination of new and seasoned Slavonian and French oak casks, then bottled and cellared for an additional ten months.

Acclaim
Gorgeous, knock-out aromas emerge from the 2007 Barbaresco Rabaja. Ripe, candied cherries, flowers and minerals emerge seamlessly in the glass, revealing gorgeous inner perfume. In 2007 the Rabaja possesses a touch more textural richness and body than is typically the case, but without abandoning what remains a classic, mid-weight style. This is a terrific showing from Cortese.
— Wine Advocate, Dec 2010
Giuseppe Cortese's bold Barbaresco from the Rabaja cru shows a strong bouquet of spice, liquid smoke, mesquite and cola. The natural fruit appears at the back and the wine carries over the palate with enourmous freshness and intensity.
