Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino

Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino bottle image

Wine Description

Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino is made from a meticulous vine selection in the best lots of the Catena family’s estate vineyards. These Zapata vines are carefully hand tended and produce extremely low yields. The grapes are micro-fermented in new French oak barriques and the wine is then aged for 24 months in new French oak. This wine is made in very limited quantities.

Acclaim
“A gorgeous label featuring a likeness of proprietor Laura Catena is wrapped around this magnificent and masterful wine. Deep, dark, and luscious with ripe and exquisite berry-tinged flavors; elegant, generous, and balanced.”
— The Tasting Panel, Dec 2018
“With a grand label depicting the history of Malbec, this shows rich, dense, bold blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. It’s compact with good structure. Vivid, with hints of tar and spice, and showing lovely depth. Concentrated and tannic, but nicely balanced, showing sleek fruit.”
