Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino

Wine Description

The Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino is one of three high-end Malbecs first released by the winery in 2007. Like its siblings, the wine exemplifies Nicolás Catena’s success and pioneering research with the Malbec grape in Mendoza. The vines for Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino are carefully chosen from two of the winery’s best vineyard sites: the Adrianna and the Nicasia.

Acclaim
The 2006 Malbec Argentino is a blend of the Nicasia and Adrianna Vineyards with the same elevage. As so often happens, the combination is better than either of the individual components. It is more complex aromatically, seems more opulent, has tons of flavor and a lengthy 60-second finish.
— Wine Advocate, Aug 2009
Stately, stunning Malbec with alluring aromas of balsam wood, flower petals, cocoa and cola along with major league berry action. The palate is saturated, pure, tannic and loaded with blasting berry fruit, licorice and more. Let it age for at least another year or two. Then let it rip with a porterhouse steak.
