Cousiño-Macul Isidora

Sauvignon Gris bottle image

Wine Description

Good rainfall during winter, followed by a cool spring and dry summer lead to lower yields in the 2010-2011 vintage. Characterized by healthy fruit with excellent flavor and maturity, the grapes were hand-harvested during the first nights of March. 100% of the grapes were pressed to accentuate the natural freshness of the wine. A 30-day fermentation in stainless steel was followed by 5 months of aging in stainless steel tanks before bottling in October.

Acclaim
Light, bright yellow. High-pitched aromas of lime, herbs and quinine, with a subtle floral overtone. Dry and racy, offering tangy citrus zest flavors that pick up a richer pear nuance with air. Dry, focused sauvignon with good closing grip and cut.
— International Wine Cellar, May 2012
“The 2011 Sauvignon Gris was directly whole-bunch pressed. It has a light, but attractive bouquet with melon, grapefruit and apricot aromas. The palate is ripe on the palate and nicely balanced with crisp acidity and offers a crisp lime zest finish.”
— Wine Advocate, Dec 2012
