Wine Description

Made from 100% Merlot harvested from a single vineyard located 1,181 feet above sea level in the heart of Chianti Classico. The grapes are harvested in September, then crushed, de-stemmed and macerated in contact with the skins for 28 days. The wine is aged in barrique for 15 months, followed by an additional 10 months in bottle.

Acclaim
Loads of crushed raspberries and mint in this wine. Big and juicy palate, with loads of fresh acidity and a long, long finish.
— Wine Spectator, Oct 2001
Black as night in the glass, with a brooding power that's confirmed on the palate. What's special about it is that unlike so many flabby Merlots, it carries Chianti-like acidity and an unbridled raciness.
— Wine Enthusiast, Aug 2002
