Wine Description

Over many generations, the Argiolas family has worked diligently to become the leader in Sardinian enology. In many ways, Turriga embodies the fulfillment of this goal. Made from 85% Cannonau, with 5% each of Carignano, Bovale Sardo and Malvasia Nera, all meticulously hand-harvested from the Turriga estate in the countryside of Selegas-Piscina Trigus. This wine is the flagship red of the Argiolas estate.

Dark ruby-red. Fresh flowers and red cherry on the captivating nose. Then more floral red fruit in the mouth, with still chewy, slightly tough tannins providing backbone to the ripe fruit and spicy coffee flavors. Long, pure and vibrant on the finish, the 2006 was a generally cooler year than the 2004, 2005 and 2007 vintages, a fact showcased by this wine’s slightly more austere but refined personality.
