Turriga Isola dei Nuraghi IGT bottle image

Wine Description

Over many generations, the Argiolas family has worked diligently to become the leader in Sardinian enology. In many ways, Turriga embodies the fulfillment of this goal. It is made from 85% Cannonau, with 5% each of Carignano, Bovale Sardo, and Malvasia Nera meticulously hand-harvested from the Turriga vineyard in the countryside of Selegas-Piscina Trigus. This wine is the flagship red of the Argiolas estate.

Acclaim
“A wine with lots of minty, blackberry and currant character. Full and very silky with a long, long finish. Structured and polished. Beautiful.”
— James Suckling, Nov 2012
“The flagship 2007 Isola dei Nuraghi Turriga comes across as quite restrained in this vintage. It possesses lovely inner sweetness, silky tannins and terrific overall balance. Sage, rosemary, freshly cut flowers and licorice emerge over time, adding layers of dimension to the fruit. The medium-bodied style is highly appealing, especially since Turriga is rarely this accessible upon release.”
— Antonio Galloni, Feb 2013
