Tramin Lagrein

Lagrein Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

Made from 100% Lagrein from southern Alto Adige, a deeply colored grape which is believed to have originated in the Lagarina valley of Trentino. After a short but intense maceration, the wine is aged in a combination of small and large oak casks to ensure softer tannins and greater finesse.

Acclaim
The 2009 Lagrein is a delicious mouth filling wine loaded with dark red fruit, licorice and spices. Some rough edges remain, but that is a relatively small criticism at this level. Paired with hearty foods, the Lagrein will deliver plenty of sheer pleasure.
