Argiolas Korem

Korem Isola dei Nuraghi IGT bottle image

Wine Description

Located amid Sardinia’s natural beauty, just north of Cagliari, is the Argiolas estate, widely known not only for its crisp and refreshing white wines, but also for its unforgettably complex reds. Argiolas Korem is a voluptuous, exotic red wine made with indigenous Bovale Sardo, Carignano and Cannonau grapes from the Sa Tanca vineyard. The wine is aged in barriques and cement tanks for one year with further development in the bottle for about six months.

Acclaim
“The 2008 Isola dei Nuraghi Korem dazzles from start to finish. The fruit shows marvelous freshness and vitality, while hints roasted coffee beans, mocha and licorice add further dimensions of complexity. A blast of tar, jammy black fruit and licorice informs the opulent finish.”
— Wine Advocate, Jun 2011
“An interesting blend of Bovale, Carignano and Cannonau (three of the great indigenous grapes of Sardinia), this opens with aromas of bramble, fresh herb, black olive and dried ginger. Soft berry fruit is backed by a fresh, menthol-tinged finish.”
— Wine Enthusiast, Mar 2013
