Poggio Scalette Il Carbonaione

Il Carbonaione Alta Valle della Greve IGT bottle image

Wine Description

This is a legendary, iconic wine. The vines here—some more than 75 years old—are rare examples of the original clone of the famous “Sangiovese di Lamole” varietal in the Chianti Classico area. The vineyard plot “Il Carbonaione” is so named because the Fiore family believes a charcoal pit (in Italian ‘carbone’) was located there many years before.
