Bourgogne Pinot Noir Les Fortunés
Maison Chanzy was founded by Daniel Chanzy in 1974 in Bouzeron, located in the northern part of the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy. In 2013, a group of Burgundy wine lovers purchased Chanzy with a group of investors and have since added a second holding in Côte Chalonnaise and Côte de Beaune for a total of 163 acres planted.
Wine Production
Bourgogne Pinot Noir receives a seven-day pre-fermentation cold maceration and is then aged in used 450-liter barrels for ten months, followed by four months in stainless steel vats before bottling.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, this Pinot Noir offers a diversity of aromas with a range of fresh red fruits such as blackcurrant or cherry. On the palate, it is rather round, with assertive but delicate tannins.
Food Pairing
This wine has a freshness and fruity suppleness that is accessible and invites a range of pairings. Try with mushrooms stuffed with shrimps and fresh cheese with chives, roasted fish, roasted vegetables with feta, spinach and ricotta ravioli, lemon chicken and goat cheese.
