Acclaim
“The 2020 Red Blend Apalta is a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, 8% Carménère, 8% Merlot and 1% Grenache from Apalta, Colchagua, 40% aged in used barrels. Mild purple in color. The attractive nose offers plum, spice and hints of pepper, while in the mouth, this is juicy with active, fine-grained tannins, medium body and slightly compact palate.”
— Vinous, Jun 2022
“Fresh, composed and subtle with a classy and refined cigar note to the black plums and some blue fruit. A hint of chili chocolate, too. A medium-to full-bodied red with very bright fruit and very fine-grained tannins. Very complete, with poise, class and power. 65% cabernet sauvignon with syrah, carmenere, merlot and a touch of garnacha.”
— James Suckling, May 2022

Wine Production

100% hand harvested, strict fruit selection by state of the art Vistalys optical sorter. All fermentations were made in stainless steel tanks. The Apalta blend enhances the main characteristics of each variety: from Cabernet Sauvignon, its complexity and elegant structure; from Syrah, its exuberant and attractive aromas; and from the Carmenere, its roundness and spicy expression. 70% of the blend was aged for 12 months in a mix of new and second use French oak barrels. The wine was clarified and a very light filtration was done previous bottling.
