Acclaim
“This is a very good photograph of the Apalta area, taken through the Lapostolle lens that focuses on its succulent wines with an accent on the notes of ripe black and red fruits. It's a selection of blocks, primarily from vineyards planted in 2005 and consists of 75% cabernet sauvignon, 10% carmenere, and 15% syrah, with just over a year in used barrels. The result is a delicious example of the house style, without the exaggerations in ripeness or extraction of the past but that still have that ample and voluptuous character. For winemaker Andrea León, this is a gateway to the world of Apalta, whose pinnacle is its famous blend, Clos Apalta.”
— Descorchados, Aug 2021
“A tight, intense scarlet, this red from Colchagua gives off black and red fruits with an attractive expression that refrains from overdoing the style. Dry on the palate with moderate freshness and fine, slightly reactive tannins, it is bold, easy to drink and rich. A simple, affable wine.” (Previously labeled as Le Rouge 2018)

Wine Production

100% hand harvested, strict fruit selection by state of the art Vistalys optical sorter. All fermentations were made in stainless steel tanks. The Apalta blend enhances the main characteristics of each variety: from Cabernet Sauvignon, its complexity and elegant structure; from Syrah, its exuberant and attractive aromas; and from the Carmenere, its roundness and spicy expression. 70% of the blend was aged for 12 months in a mix of new and second use French oak barrels. The wine was clarified and a very light filtration was done previous bottling.
