About the Vineyard
Cooper Mountain's signature Pinot Gris is sourced from three of the oldest estate vineyards, Johnson School Vineyard, Meadowlark Vineyard, and Old Vines Vineyard. The 40 acres of Johnson School Vineyard are comprised of windblown soils that lay on the Eastern flanks of the Chehalem Mountains AVA, while Meadowlark Vineyard lies at 300 to 400 feet and is defined by volcanic soils. Cooper Mountain’s Old Vines Vineyard was planted on the north side of Cooper Mountain in 1978. Ranging in elevation from 500 to 650 feet, vines on this original site are self-rooted and dry-farmed. Also defined by volcanic soils, Old Vines Vineyard produces wines of complexity and character.
