Castello di Neive Santo Stefano Barbaresco

Barbaresco Santo Stefano Albesani DOCG bottle image

Wine Description

The Barbaresco Santo Stefano is the result of an ethereal combination of the ideal terroir with the perfectly-suited Nebbiolo grape.  This wine shows all the characteristic elegance of Barbaresco with the complexity and richness for which Santo Stefano is known.  The Nebbiolo grapes for this wine are grown in the Albesani sub-appellation inside Barbaresco, in the single vineyard of Santo Stefano, which is owned entirely by Castello di Neive.

Acclaim
“The 2009 Barbaresco Albesani Santo Stefano unfurls on the palate with layers of highly expressive dark fruit. Hints of menthol, smoke, incense, leather and tobacco appear later, adding considerable depth and complexity. A plush, open finish rounds things out in style. Though fresher than the straight bottling, the Santo Stefano is also remarkably open today.”
— Antonio Galloni, Oct 2012
"Barbaresco Santo Stefano is a linear and silky expression of Nebbiolo, with pretty aromas of dried raspberry and smoke. It shows elegance and a bright, lively finish."
— Wine Enthusiast, Sep 2012
