Castellare S. Niccolò

S. Niccolò Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC bottle image

Wine Description

Made from 60% Malvasia Toscana and 40% Trebbiano Toscano, harvested from various estate vineyards in Castellina in Chianti. After harvest, the grapes are crushed and fermentation is carried out slowly in small oak barrels (known as caratelli) in which the wine continues to age for five years.

Acclaim
[A] warm, classic Vin Santo layered with candied orange peel, sweet mulling spices, dried flowers and licorice. The understated yet open style, with its slightly oxidative, burnished tones make for a fabulous drinking experience.
