Garzón Balasto

Tannat & Tannat-based Blends

Garzón's soil belongs geologically to what is known as the Crystalline Basement. Over 2.5 billion years of geological processes, these granite rock formations gave shape to fantastic thin and rocky soils: 'balasto.'

The decomposed granite of ballast soil provides excellent drainage and permeability, endowing the wines with vibrancy, complexity, and elegance. Balasto embodies the very best of what the land can produce and is one of a select few wines accepted by the merchants of 'La Place de Bordeaux.' It is one of the most sought-after wines from South America and is made only from the finest grapes in the best vintages.

Tasting Notes

Garzón Balasto is a richly spiced wine with aromas of fresh red and black fruit, licorice, graphite, and a hint of tobacco. The palate is vibrant and full-bodied, with juicy tannins and subtle minerality that give way to a long, textural finish.

Food Pairing

Garzón Balasto, with its robust character and rich flavors, is an ideal companion for a variety of dishes. It pairs beautifully with grilled meat, juicy roasts, and rich stews.
