Argiolas Costamolino

Costamolino Vermentino di Sardegna DOC bottle image

Wine Description

Made from 90% Vermentino and 10% of other Sardinian grapes grown in the Costamolino vineyard, at an elevation of 625 feet. The grapes were harvested in September and vinified in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation was partially carried out, allowing for greater elegance without sacrificing the typical freshness of Vermentino.

Acclaim
Shows lemon rind and honey on the nose, with hints of sliced orange. Full-bodied, with ripe fruit and a long, flavorful finish. Rich, clean and steely. Good value in a squeaky-clean, flavorful white. Drink now.
— Wine Spectator, Aug 2008
The 2007 Costamolino is primarily Vermentino with a small addition of other local varieties. This is a gorgeous white with layers of perfume-laced fruit that flow from the glass. Made in a linear, minerally style, the wine possesses excellent length, balance and class. In short, it is a terrific entry-level bottling.
