Tiefenbrunner Feldmarschall von Fenner

Feldmarschall von Fenner Müller-Thurgau Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

The name of this wine stems from Franz Pphilipp Freiherr von Fenner zu Fennberg, commander of the Austrian-Hungary Kaiserjager regiment in the first World War who once used the Hofstatt as a summer residence. The Muller Thurgau Feldmarschall grows on the high plateu of Fennberg which belongs to the district of Margreid. It is protected from the north wind and has a special microclimate which allows the production of this wine.

Acclaim
The 2007 Muller Thurgau Feldmarschall possesses beguiling aromatics that lead to a focused, minerally expression of apricots and white peaches. The wine possesses remarkable detail and clarity in an utterly compelling style. This tightly-wound white needs quite a bit of air to show at its best, so it should be opened at least 30 minutes before serving.
— Wine Advocate, Oct 2008
Buying Guide - Bright lemon peel and banana aromas follow through to a medium body, with a citrus fruit and fresh finish. Lively and pretty. Drink now.
