Santenay Les Cornières

Pinot Noir

The Les Cornières vineyard sits in Santenay, just south of the Côte de Beaune near the border between Côte‑d’Or and Saône‑et‑Loire, an area historically known for both wine and thermal springs. The site takes its name from the rowan trees, formerly called "cormiers", that once populated the area, whose small russet fruits were called “corms.”

Wine Production

Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 10 days, pumping over and punching down with temperature control throughout fermentation. The wine then ages for 10 months in 228‑L oak barrels, followed by 5 additional months in stainless steel tanks

Tasting Notes

Intense, brilliant black cherry color. Floral nose of peony and violet, followed by black fruit. Round and greedy on the palate, with great finesse and length. A deep, dense wine.

Food Pairing

Pair with turkey terrine, foie gras pie, or oxtail braised in red wine.
