Altitude by Duorum
Altitude by Duorum
Altitude by Duorum, from its sustainable practices in the vineyards to its choice of dry goods (light weight bottle), contributes to the preservation and conservation of endangered bird species and their environment. In the label, the curious and watchful bird, standing on a branch up in the clouds, not only intends to represent the altitude and freshness of the Douro breezes, but mainly Duorum's commitment to all the rare and endangered species that finds refuge in Duorum Estate.
Wine Production
Upon arrival at the winery the grapes are de-stemmed and gently crushed in stainless steel “lagares” (troughs) with robotized treading followed by pre-fermentation maceration at low temperature. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a maximum controlled temperature of 28ºC until fermentation is complete. The pressing is done in hydraulic vertical presses.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red color with hints of violet. Intense aroma, dominated by ripe fruit such as plum, blackberry, raspberry and strawberry, and by the floral aromas of violet. A full-bodied, fresh wine, with balanced acidity well integrated in its body and volume. Ripe and smooth tannins, with a fresh and persistent finish.
Food Pairing
A very gastronomic wine, due to its freshness and acidity, it is ideal to cut the fattiness of veal meats. Recommend serving slightly chilled.

About the Vineyard
Douro Superior is a dry region with very hot summers that provides ideal conditions for the ripeness of grapes, resulting in full bodied wines. These specific vineyards are located at a relatively high-altitude (400-500m) with a northern exposure to avoid excess heat.
