Wine Description

The Mendoza Province is Argentina's most important winemaking region.  Withing the Mendoza appellation there are distince sub-appellations.  Through extrodinary diversity in soil quality, altitude and climate, mendoza's sub appellations/IGs are essential in defining the terroir of Argentine wine.  Wines labeled from a particular appellation/IG must be sources 100% from vineyards in the specific IG.

Acclaim
“Fragrant nose of blackcurrants, dried blueberries, lavender, bark, graphite and cloves. It’s medium-bodied with firm, velvety tannins. Perfumed, with lovely varietal character. Fresh and focused. Sustainable.”
— James Suckling, Mar 2022
“The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Catena Appellation Agrelo comes from La Piramide vineyard where the soils are rich in day and lime.  This wine was aged for eight months in 35% new French barrels. The nose offers ripe fruit such as redcurrant and hints of blackberry along with herbs and pepper followed by a whiff of roasted red pepper. In the mouth, it’s terse with polished tannins, grip and intense flavor alongside a voluminous flow and fruity finish. The palate is determined by the region, balanced by winemaking nous that ensures It doesn’t go overboard. This is a flavorful wine."
— Vinous, Nov 2021
