Côtes-du-Rhône Chartreuse de Bonpas Reserve
This wine is a tribute to the storied grandeur of the historic Chartreuse de Bonpas, a place steeped in timeless elegance and history. The grapes for this exquisite cuvée are handpicked from the sun-drenched vineyards that grace both the right and left banks of the Rhône River. Each cluster carries the essence of renowned terroirs such as Signargues, Plan de Dieu, and Vinsobres—lands celebrated for their unique character and soul. Together, they weave a symphony of flavors, crafting a wine that is as distinctive and enduring as the heritage it honors.
Wine Production
Co-fermentation of the different grape varieties. Physical extractions using devatting and pumping over techniques at the beginning of fermentation give way to the traditional Rhône Valley method, which consists of submerging the pomace cap at the end of fermentation. This final extraction, conducted at 28°C, is comparable to an infusion. While respecting and preserving the aromas and flavours of jammy red fruit, it allows the wine to acquire smooth velvety tannins and guarantees good length on the palate.
Tasting Notes
Red berry and kirsch aromas underlined by floral notes. On the palate, the wine is round and smooth, with complex flavours of red and black fruits such as acerola cherry, blackcurrant, and plum. Subtle notes of sweet spices add depth and elegance. The silky, well-integrated tannins support a long and harmonious finish.
Food Pairing
This Côtes du Rhône Villages is a classic from the family of riper, rounder, richer red wines produced in the Southern Rhône. Perfect with grilled or stewed meat, lamb kebabs, snacked red tuna steak, vegetable lasagna or with exotic cuisine such as lamb curry.
