Wine Description

The area where the vineyard is situated is referred to as "El Estrecho de Pipa" meaning "The Strait of Pipe," so the wine has been named after this straight. Made from 100% Monastrell grown in the area and harvested by hand, the wine shows a minerality that is characteristic to the area.

Acclaim
The 2005 Estrecho is 100% Monastrell sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1960. The wine was aged for 14 months in 500-liter French oak. Inky purple-colored, it delivers a toasty, spice box, violet, and blueberry-scented perfume followed by an intense, concentrated, layered wine with 3-5 years of aging potential. It will drink well through 2025.
