Ànima Negra ÀN/2

ÀN/2 bottle image

Wine Description

ÀN/2 is a perfect introduction to the wines of Mallorca. This unique red is made from old vine Callet, Mantonegre-Fogoneu and Syrah fermented in a combination of stainless steel and concrete—macerated only briefly to retain the freshness and flavors of the fully ripe fruit. Aged for just over one year in a combination of 80% French barriques and 20% American oak.

Acclaim
“Lightly roasted and stalky on the nose, this shows dry aromas of cherry and raspberry along with earthy spice notes. The palate offers proper balance and nothing complicated. Flavors of oak-driven spice, cinnamon and pepper accent earthy plum and berry, while the finish is smooth but a touch hot.”
— Wine Enthusiast, Sep 2014
“An entry level red, the 2012 AN/2 is a blend of 65% Callet, 20% Mantonegro-Fogoneu and 15% Syrah from 168 plots of vineyards! The wine fermented in vat and aged in barrel for 13 months. At first there's a clear note of raspberry, but soon the vanilla takes over revealing a good freshness in the nose with Mediterranean notes. The palate is medium-bodied with lactic, creamy flavors and more influence from the oak. It is clean and nice with an approachable, commercial profile.”
— Wine Advocate, Feb 2015
