Claret

Smooth in texture and full of verve, Matthews’ wines offer a balanced palate with a complexity and richness that pairs well with the season's freshest harvest.

Wine Production

Matthews Claret comes from several small vineyard parcels within Columbia Valley, namely key sites on Red Mountain, Horse Heaven Hills, and the Royal Slope. The grapes are harvested in the early mornings, sorted, and fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks. The wine is cellared in French oak barrels and carefully blended by the winemaking team.

Tasting Notes

Dark berries, bramble, and cola give way to sandalwood and vanilla bean. Red and black fruits, cocoa, and black tea on the palate. Polished tannins and well-balanced acidity leave a lasting finish that intrigues.

Food Pairing

Serve with grilled beef sliders, breaded meatballs, and roasted lambchops.
