Zenato Lugana San Benedetto

Lugana di San Benedetto DOC bottle image

Wine Description

Zenato has isolated a unique clone of Trebbiano which is highly reputed for its distinct, flavorful character. The Trebbiano di Lugana grapes are sourced from estate vineyards in San Benedetto, a village just south of Lake Garda, between the towns of Desenzano and Peschiera del Garda. Meticulously fermented in stainless steel, this wine is a perennial favorite among Italian wine lovers who appreciate something off the beaten path.

Acclaim
The 2009 Lugana San Benedetto stands out for its richly textured fruit, expressive aromatics and crisp, refreshing finish. The San Benedetto is made from estate owned fruit grown on the shores of Lake Garda.
— Wine Advocate, Aug 2010
“Apple blossom and honey notes accent the persimmon and quince fruit flavors in this pretty white. There’s a smoky mineral baseline, with a clean, citrus-tinged finish.”
— Wine Spectator, Jul 2011
