Sergio Zenato Amarone Classico della Valpolicella

Sergio Zenato Amarone Classico Riserva DOCG bottle image

Wine Description

The high-quality approach to this wine begins in the vineyard as it is made from a strict selection of Corvina, Rondinella, Croatina, and Oseleta grapes grown in the Sant’ Ambrogio district. The grapes were harvested in September and October and dried for four months before fermentation. After being aged for 36 months in large barrels, the wine was refined for several months in bottle.

ZENATO Sergio Zenato Amarone Classico Riserva 2010 – 96 points
“Wonderful aromas of dried flowers such as roses combine with dark and dried fruits. Extremely aromatic. Full body, round and velvety tannins and an intense and juicy finish. Love the play of lightly austere tannins and juicy fruit.”
— James Suckling, Nov 2016
Tarry smoke and grilled herb notes herald this dense, full-bodied red, along with details of ground coffee, blackberry pâte de fruit, dark chocolate shavings and ground pink peppercorn. Long and supple, with a lasting, rich and creamy finish.
— Wine Spectator, Oct 2016
