About the Vineyard
Graun is the highest hamlet of the wine village of Kurtatsch, situated on the western side of the South Tyrolean Lowlands. The vineyards are situated between 700 and 940 meters above sea level, which ensures abundant sunshine and promotes photosynthesis of the vines ultimately contributing to the production of sugar and aroma compounds in the grapes.
Penon, Hofstatt und Rain are areas within the municipality of Kurtatsch [Cortaccia] situated on the right side of the South Tyrolean Lowlands. These hillside-vineyards benefit from intense sun exposure during the day due to their elevated position. In the evening, cool winds descending from the Mendelzug mountain range create a noticeably cooler climate. This natural temperature contrast promotes a rich spectrum of aromas and well-balanced acidity in the wine.
