Stadt Krems Kremstal Grüner Veltliner

Grüner Veltliner Kremstal DAC bottle image

Wine Description

Grapes were hand-harvested during mid-late October. Fermentation and aging took place in stainless steel tanks to maintain purity of fruit. Wines did not undergo malolactic fermentation and were released one year after bottling.

Acclaim
Miesbauer had just lost his entire crop in the Sandgrube (a significant share of his total production) to savage hail, but within 48 hours was well on his way to lining up the contracts that would inform this year's 2007 Gruner Veltliner in lieu of a Sandgrube bottling. And the wine is a complete success. Pumpkin, musk melon, rhubarb, snap pea, cress and lime inform a bright, snappy palate and finish with cress-like pungency and piquant nuttiness.
