Chablis 1er Cru Montmains
“Montmains” brings together, under its flag-bearer banner, itself as well as the Climats “Butteaux” et “Forêts.” Together they cover approximately 118 hectares. This long climate is oriented South-East/North-East and benefits from the sun in the early hours of the day.
Wine Production
Cold settling of the juice. 30% of the wine is vinified in 2-6 year old wooden barrels, and 70% is vinified in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks. Indigenous yeasts are used for vinification. Malolactic fermentation is stopped in order to preserve freshness. Aged on the lees for several months.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold with green highlights. Complex mineral nose with notes of praline and exotic fruit. Very tasty on the palate, reminiscent of mango and hazelnut with a long finish.
Food Pairing
Will perfectly accompany seafood, in particular oysters and Norway lobsters, but also grilled fish and goat cheese.

About the Vineyard
On the left bank of the Serein river, nestled between the microclimates of Bois des Lys and Broques de Biques, the Montmains parcel slopes gently at a quite low altitude. The grapes for this wine come from 2 plots ; one which is known for its marly soils and the other which is much more stony. The result is a premier cru allying minerality and elegance, vinified on the lees and a third in barrels.
