Xavier Monnot Coteaux Bourguignons Chardonnay Le Pre de Denise
Xavier Monnot Coteaux Bourguignons Chardonnay Le Pre de Denise
Before vines, this parcel of land was a meadow where animals grazed. "Le pres de Denise" translates as "Denise's field," named after Xavier's grandmother.
Wine Production
After a careful harvest and gentle pressing, the wine is fermented in barrels and demi-muids using spontaneous yeasts. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in a delicate 15% new oak to preserve its fresh, clean, and beautifully balanced character, followed by 2 months in tanks after racking.
Tasting Notes
This wine shows bright aromas of green apple, pear skin, and white peach accented by white flowers and crushed stone. The palate is clean and beautifully balanced, with citrus and orchard fruit carried by lively acidity. Notes of almond skin and a touch of brioche emerge leading to a long, mineral-driven finish with refreshing lift.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs perfectly with vegetables, soft cheese, shellfish, fish, and white meat.

About the Vineyard
This 1 hectare vineyard plot in Meursault was planted in 2020 using Massal selection of Chardonnay. The soil is comprised of clay and silt, and Xavier Monnot carefully farms the land as he would for his Premier and Grand Crus.
