Michel Magnien Vosne-Romanee Vielles Vignes
Michel Magnien Vosne-Romanee Vielles Vignes
Vosne is said to be derived from “VIDUMOS”, which means “Forest”. It is said that Caesar rewarded the Gauls, who had been signed up to serve him for twenty years, with a gift of vineyards that subsequent generations named “Romanée”. Vosne appears as “Vanoa” in a tract written around 636-650. The great historian, Claude Courtépée, often used to say: "there are no common wines in Vosne".
Tasting Notes
This Vosne Romanée is very complex on the nose. It combines scents of wild cherry, leather, nutmeg and black truffle. On the palate, the wine is delicious and concentrated with crisp fruit and well-defined tannin.
Food Pairing
This is a harmonious wine of great nobility that is best enjoyed with game dishes such as a haunch of venison with morel mushrooms.
