Acclaim
“This 2018 Shiraz Viognier shows impressive richness and generosity of fruit. Already expressive, it delivers dense aromas of blackcurrant, black pepper and dried herbs. A powerful and muscular palate follows, thanks to firm tannins that shape a long, embryonic finish. It’s a hearty style that needs a little time to unwind.”
— Vinous, Nov 2022
“Very peppery and fragrant shiraz with raspberry, blackberry and almost slate-like, stony notes, too. This is striking in terms of style and quality. The palate has a very elegant and centrally focused feel with flavors of rich, ripe dark berries, as well as chocolate. There’s a strong, peppery thread to the palate, too. The tannins are so clear-cut and assertive, yet fine. 50% whole bunches, co-fermented with 6% viognier.”– #60 among the Top 100 Wines of Australia
— James Suckling, Dec 2020

A hail storm on January 9 gave us plenty to worry about, reducing what was already a small crop. Mercifully, the vines recovered well. A brilliant ripening season followed, marked by a run of gorgeous weather in the crucial late Summer/early Autumn.
