Barone Pizzini Golf 1927

Barone Pizzini Golf 1927

Wine Description

In 1927 Baron Edoardo Pizzini founded one of the first golf courses in Italy. The Golf 1927 Franciacorta, evokes the spirit of innovation that has always guided Barone Pizzini. An example of that innovation is that Barone Pizzini was the first producer to make an organic Franciacorta wine.

Acclaim
“The NV Franciacorta Golf 1927 is decidedly savory, with a spicy blend of dried apricots and peaches complicated by hints of cardamom. This opens with a pretty inner sweetness and a soft wave of soothing bubbles. A salty tinge complicates its ripe orchard fruits. This finishes fresh and with admirable length as a bump of residual acidity keeps the mouth watering for more.” — Vinous, Dec 2023
“Made with all Chardonnay, the organic Barone Pizzini NV Franciacorta Golf 1927 Extra Brut has a simple delivery with easy aromas of fresh lemon, peach and honeydew melon. The wine is tart and nicely crisp with good energy in terms of its mouthfeel and perlage. You get a hint of spicy ginger or crushed oyster shell on the mineral-driven close.” — Wine Advocate, Nov 2023
