Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli

Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli DOCG bottle image

Wine Description

Made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso hand harvested from the prestigious Montosoli vineyard. The extra long, 10 day maceration allows for richer color and superb concentration. Brunello Montosoli is aged for three to three and a half years in 1-15 year old Slavonian oak barrels.

Acclaim
The single-vineyard 2003 Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli, from one of the region's top sites, is fresher and more vibrant than the regular bottling, with superior balance and finesse. It shows lovely plumpness, clarity and depth in its black cherries, oak, spices and tobacco. This medium to full-bodied wine should drink beautifully over the next decade or so. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2018.
— Wine Advocate, Apr 2008
Displays stewed cherry and mahogany. Full-bodied, with jammy fruit character and a medium finish. Thick and powerful. A little ponderous, but impressive.
— Wine Spectator, May 2008
