Yalumba

Organic Chardonnay

Located on the Murray River at Loxton, the Barich family have a beautiful organic vineyard which produces wonderful Chardonnay. The grapes from this vineyard are combined with grapes from the Carypides family vineyard at Angle Vale who have been producing high quality Chardonnay for Yalumba for many years, and became Certified Organic in 2010. Meticulous work in both vineyards ensures that the grapes are in perfect condition when they are picked.

Wine Production

Made with organic winemaking techniques with very little winemaking intervention. 100% indigenous yeast fermentation.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw with green hues, this wine exhibits aromas of lemon myrtle, pineapple and hints of stone fruit and melon. The palate is full of peach and melon initially and leads into a rich orange panna cotta mid palate with a long length of flavour.

Food Pairing

Enjoy with spicy mussels and soba noodles

About the Vineyard

The 2016 growing season started well with a warm and dry spring, December and January. Cool nights during this period and rain at the end of January helped freshen up the vines before a return to warm weather in February, which led to even and healthy ripening of the Chardonnay grapes.
