“The amber-colored 2012 Terminum, Tramin's late-harvest Gewürztraminer, is a real stunner. Rich, unctuous and intense, but never heavy, the 2012 is simply captivating from the very first taste. Candied orange peel, coconut, spices, honey and dried flowers all flesh out effortlessly. The Terminum is an ideal sweet wine for drinking with cheese.”
Tramin - Vinous
Terminum Vendemmia Tardiva DOC
“Tramin's 2011 Terminum is a bit introspective in this vintage. Sage, rosemary, apricots, mint and wild flowers are some of the many notes that come together in a delicate, mid-weight wine endowed with superb persistence and length.”
“Peach, apricot and Chamomile notes meld into flowers, sage and mint in Tramin's 2010 Gewurztraminer Vendemia Tardiva Terminum . The 2010 is a bit brighter and more focused than the stellar 2009, but otherwise very close in terms of overall quality. In this vintage, the sweetness lies in the background, while floral and mineral notes take center stage. As always, the Terminum is one of the most compelling late-harvest wines in Alto Adige.”
“The 2010 Gewürztraminer Nussbaumer flows across the palate with layers of rich, tropical fruit. Soft and caressing, the Nussbaumer boasts gorgeous textural richness and fabulous overall balance. Light honeyed, floral notes wrap around the deeply expressive finish. Despite its considerable richness, the 2010 remains light on its feet and not at all heavy. I loved it.”
The 2008 Gewurztraminer Terminum Vendemmia Tardiva, a late-harvest sweet wine, reveals superb varietal definition and character in its intense notes of passion fruit, mango, exotic spices and dried flowers. This polished, elegant wine is drop-dead gorgeous and highly recommended.
Pale straw-yellow with a hint of green. Vibrant, highly aromatic nose of rose petal, white peach, minerals, vanilla and spices manages to come across as remarkably restrained and elegant. Fresh and crisp on the palate, with pink grapefruit and tangerine flavors in the forefront, and ginger cookie, white peach and lime mounting on the back. Finishes long and light, with a distinctly floral quality. As I've said before, this is one of the world's most elegant interpretations of the grape, and still my choice as the best gewürztraminer made in Italy today.
