“Tasted at the château, the 2006 Beau Site is clearly fully matured on the nose with kirsch and gravel scents on the nose, perhaps showing a little more volatility since I last tasted this Saint Estèphe in 2007. The palate is medium-bodied with simple red berry fruit, stringy tannin and a simple, slightly tart finish. Drink now.”
The 2006 Shiraz is deep crimson-colored with a reticent bouquet that reluctantly yields notes of smoke, violets, pepper, and blueberry. Slightly narrow on the palate, it has good flavors but only average length. Drink it over the next four years.
