Review “This wine originates in from El Granito vineyard, planted in 2010 in the Leyda Valley, a stone’s throw from the Pacific Ocean. Vibrant and attractive golden colour. On the nose it exudes aromas of ripe yellow fruits, citrus zest, hut cross buns, brioche and hints of butterscotch, as well as toasty oak and nutty notes. Traditional, broad and creamy style of Chardonnay, however balancing acidity enables the wine to retain a sense of harmony.”

Review “This single vineyard located on west facing slopes receives abundant cool breezes from the ocean, which contributes to its pungent aromas of freshly cut green peppers, asparagus, grapefruit, lime, tropical and grassy notes. On the palate it displays lovely texture and good concentration of fruit underpinned by racy acidity.”

Review “A wine made with passion and precision, sourced from 27 rows of a 2.5ha plot, established on poor rocky soil located at 1,450m in Gualtallary. Ethereal, mysterious and elegant, including aromas of ripe yellow fruits, orange peel, butterscotch, fresh dough and mineral notes. On the palate it displays mouthwatering freshness: taut with savoury complexity and hints of sweet spices resulting from skillful use of oak. A classy wine with a broad creamy texture and reminiscent of white Burgundy.”

Review “From a 5ha single vineyard of vines in Bolgheri in biodynamic conversion. This is easy to love with sweet red berry fruit and a silky texture that suggests the generosity of Merlot is taking the lead at this early stage. These are given further form and persistency by ripe tannins with black olives and saffron spice hints that run underneath.”

Review “Alberello is the classic Bordeaux blend of Grattamacco in Bolgheri, a mix of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot, sourced from a 2ha vineyard planted with bush vines (‘alberello’). Clay and earth aromas are joined by intense floral notes of violet. It’s a muscular wine, large and powerful, smooth and just chalky on the finish, with an amazing mineral vibrancy.”

Review “The contribution of Sangiovese (15%) in the blend of Grattamacco makes it a distinctive Bolgheri Superiore. If on the nose Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are prevailing with cassis fruit, cedar and kiwi, full of balsamic depth, the indigenous grape pushes the fragrance of the wine with chewy wild fruit flavours. An exceptional expression in the hot vintage. Complex and layered, without any foursquare character, this organic wine is waiting for extra complexity over its liquorice finish.”

Review “The 2016 vintage is a classic example, a superb blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with 31% Malbec and 8% Cabernet Franc that’s still in its infancy. Subdued aromas of cassis, black cherries and nuanced herbaceous and tobacco notes. A lovely fluid entrance builds on concentration and complexity. Malbec’s seductive juiciness joins a vertical Cabernet structure, tannins and integrated oak, with a long, lingering finish. A wine to wait for.”

Review “Gavi di Gavi offers something a little bit different: this example displays floral whiffs of white flowers and a touch of honey, joined in the mouth by tightly-coiled spiced apple and steely minerality. It has lovely concentration with mouth-tingling acidity. Lovely!”
