Deep, bright ruby. Lively, sharply focused dark berry and smoky aromas, with nuances of licorice and violet. Tangy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors are framed by silky tannins, showing good precision and peppery back-end lift. Youthfully tight today but I like this wine's sneaky sweetness and vivacity.

The 2007 Black St. Peters Zinfandel was sourced from a single estate vineyard. Dark ruby-colored, it has serious Zinfandel varietal character with a briery bouquet, velvety black fruit flavors, and excellent balance. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.

It is medium ruby-colored with an unmistakably Pinot Noir nose of raspberry and rhubarb. This leads to a medium-bodied, supple-textured wine with correct flavors but in need of more depth and concentration. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
Medium-straw colored with green highlights, it exhibits an attractive bouquet of mineral, baked apple, white peach, and a hint of tropical fruits lurking in the shadows. Medium-bodied and elegant, even slightly austere on the palate, there are tasty citrus and tropical flavors, vibrant acidity, and a moderately long finish. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.
Purple-colored, it presents aromas of briar/bramble, raisins, and blackberry reminiscent of legendary Zinfandels such as the 1977 Lytton Springs. This leads to a full-bodied, smoothly-textured Zinfandel with plenty of ripe, sweet fruit, soft tannins, and a lengthy finish. Drink it over the next 6-8 years.
Dark ruby in color... offers classic Zinfandel aromas of briar/bramble, dried fruits, and blackberry. It is more structured and may benefit from 2-3 years in bottle to more fully evolve. Drink it through 2016.
Dark red. Seductively floral red and dark berry aromas are complicated by orange zest and dried rose. Crisp and tangy, with tart red currant and cherry flavors deepened by a suggestion of mocha. Finishes slightly stern, with the fruit dropping off sand acidity dominating. Will this flesh out with some cellar time?
