In “Falling in Love with Wine,” writer David Ransom highlights a few events hosted by importers in advance of the busy holiday buying season. He writes: “The Winebow Group’s fall portfolio tasting is always a must for me, as Winebow’s stable of producers is one of the most significant in the industry.” Yet according to him, the event that really stole the show this fall was FALESCO’s La Grande Bellezza event at Kiton. Ransom writes: “Hosted by second-generation family member Dominga Cotarella, the party featured ten vintages of Falesco’s flagsip wine Montiano, going back to 1993. Made from 100 percent Merlot grown at the estate in Lazio, Montiano is silky rich in texture and proves once again that Merlot has found a home in the fertile hills north of Rome.”
