Acclaim
“This has aromas of bark, bramble, ripe cherries, cloves, thyme and ash. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and bright acidity. Excellent precision with some toasty spice complexity to the berry fruit. Sustainable.”
— James Suckling, Oct 2022
“This is gorgeously ripe and impressively complex on the nose showing ripe cherry, warm mushroom, toasted spice, hazelnut and game nuances, leading to a silky-smooth palate that's succulent and wonderfully flavoursome. It's plush and velvety with layers of delicious flavours.”
— Sam Kim, Dec 2021

Wine Production

Part of the Pinot Noir fruit for this Reserve Pinot Noir comes from two vineyards with deep clay-based soils in the Wairau Valley. Rutherford and Cowley are in the sheltered north-facing Ben Morven Valley. The remaining Pinot Noir comes from the cooler Awatere Valley, both with freedraining windblown silt loess soils adjacent to the Awatere River.
