Zenato Cresasso Corvina Veronese

Cresasso Corvina Veronese IGT bottle image

Wine Description

Cresasso is named for the soil in which it is grown, which is full of small stones: "sasso" translates as stone, and "cre" is the prefix of cretaceous.  While the terrain was far from easy to cultivate, the native Corvina Veronese reaches optimal ripeness here. Cresasso is the product of many years of study and patience on the part of the Zenato family who sought to craft a wine that truly encapsulates the uniqueness of this special terroir.

Acclaim
“Dark and brooding flavors of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit mix with hints of dusty cocoa powder and mineral, with an array of aromatic ground spices.”
— Wine Spectator, Oct 2011
The 2006 Cresasso (Corvina) is a rich, opulent wine loaded with blackberry jam, flowers, chocolate and copious French oak. Hints of minerality emerge over time.
— Wine Advocate, Feb 2011
