Valle Reale San Calisto

San Calisto Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC bottle image

Wine Description

The San Calisto vineyard takes its name from the river that flows nearby. A muscular yet refined 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, made from grapes grown in the 62-acre San Calisto parcel, the oldest plot in the Valle Reale estate planted in 1975. Located within one of Italy's most beautiful national parks, this unique vineyard benefits from the influence of the river, the area’s wild vegetation, and the surrounding mountains.

Acclaim
The wine blossoms on the palate with an intense floral quality that is followed by layers of blueberries, spices, mint and sweet oak. The finish is long, pure and refined. This is an especially exuberant, richly-textured Montepulciano....
