Tramin Unterebner

Unterebner Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

Not your average Pinot Grigio! Made from 100% single-vineyard Pinot Grigio from the Unterebner plot. The grapes for this wine are rigorously selected. 40% of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barriques for six to seven months, and 60% is refined in large oak casks. Unterebner is incredibly rich, refined and elegant.

Acclaim
“Luminous dark golden yellow. Bright nuances of apple, pear and oriental spices on the fresh, deep nose. Then smooth and dense, with an almost austere quality to the sandalwood, herbal and pear flavors. Finishes long with hints of crushed stone, vanilla and botanical herbs. The 2005 is less sweet and juicy than the 2006, and it is evolving at a faster rate, but strikes me as a very refined wine.”
— Ian D’Agata, Mar 2017
Wonderful richness, with subtle aromas of tropical fruit and honey that follow through to a full-bodied palate, with complex flavors and a long finish.
— Wine Spectator, Nov 2006
