Tramin Unterebner

Unterebner Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

Not your average Pinot Grigio! Made from 100% single-vineyard Pinot Grigio from the Unterebner plot. The grapes for this wine are rigorously selected. 40% of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barriques for six to seven months, and 60% is refined in large oak casks. Unterebner is incredibly rich, refined and elegant.

Acclaim
Pale, brilliant straw-green color. Delicate aromas of green apple, pear, honeysuckle and chamomile, with the slightest hint of resin. Pretty stone fruit flavors are perfectly framed by ripe acidity. A very elegant and refined wine, finishing crisp, clean and impressively persistent. There is probably no better unoaked version of pinot grigio made in Italy: this wine is far removed from overly sweet and alcoholic Alsace models and neutral, insipid Italian ones.
