Wine Description

Made from 100% Lagrein grown in estate vineyards in Alto Adige, this wine is named after the estate castle which dates back to the 12th century. Lagrein is an indigenous varietal that is most often vinified into deep, dark reds that have chocolate nuances and rich fruit flavors.

Acclaim
The 2007 Lagrein Castel Turmhof is made in a plump fruit-driven style. The wine offers plenty of depth and richness .
— Wine Advocate, Oct 2008
The 2007 Lagrein is a big, beefy wine packed with jammy, dark fruit, herbs, iron and blood. The wilder elements of this quirky Alto Adige grape are on full display here.
